Bhaktapur, a cultural capital of Nepal

Bhaktapur, also Bhadgaon or Khwopa, is an ancient Newar town in the east corner of the Kathmandu Valley. Bhaktapur is listed as a World Heritage sites by UNESCO for its rich culture. It was once the capital of Nepal during the great Malla Kingdom until the second half of the 15th century.

"I Want Prosperity": The art of making clay pottery is as old as human civilization. Despite of all influences of modernization and development, the potters of Bhaktapur still find their livelihood on their potter's wheels.



Nyatapola Temple: one of the temples that are still in existence today is the Nyatapola Temple, which was built in 1702 A.D under the rule of king Bhupatindra Malla.
